1. Poems

I’m going to start putting my Poems here so they’re all in one place  and easy to access :)

Here is my art page also. Somewhat neglected lately, but I need something to drive me to it!! http://cookiemnstrzrafterme.deviantart.com/

    Falling into music

    changing lighting

    gentle hue

    head of silence

    musical tune

    fill my heart

    consume my soul

    become part

    and make me whole

    Thanksgiving

    Another day passes

    leaves turn at chill

    warm comfort envelopes

    heartache it kills.

    the smell, so sweet

    focuses the mind

    one task.

    lose yourself; and love

    they are the same.

    Snapple

well here is the good stuff.

    the good kind of stuff?

    well no but it’s stuff.

    well give me the stuff!

    better stuff’s there.

    which better stuff?

    the stuff over there

    you get it yourself.

    I’ll get it myself,

    and show you the stuff.

    good luck with that stuff,

    it’s stuffed with cheap stuff

    who governs

after the fact that some things

    grow and others destroy, because

both (with a hand in creation

    turning soil into life)

    do govern completely earth

    Forgetfulness

Why do men often forget the joy they had?

They think they have found it in others

the things that don’t really matter.

Those who see them in their destruction

many turn away to govern their own

but I cannot lend a blind eye to

    their suffering.

Love, profusely flows, like water down a raging river,

but a dam blocks the full force of the blow.

A small, tiny piece of light seeps into the cracks

Given time, the dam might budge.

He has changed from what he once was.

I’ve seen the photos of his,

    A cocky smile, piercing eyes

    a straightness to his back.

    Now smile is cracked

    eyes are dull and

    back is bent

from the yoke he has decided to carry.

If he promised to change, I’d help carry his load.

    That sacrifice, any true friend would make;

the only problem is the promise

one he is not willing to make.

The cycle begins again. “Why do men forget?”

    Why did he forget?

    Rinse and Repeat

    rinse and repeat

    scrub the day’s grime off

    clean and crisp

    look, the grime is off

    sleep and snore

    dream, the thoughts of adventure

    work and toil

feel, the dirt in your hands

    finish and return

smell the food of your labor

    stop and think

    rinse, the grime isn’t off

    I must

    rinse and repeat

    Glass

    One turn my friends

until we reach the water’s edge

    Is the water cold?

I sense it to be so, but listen to my warning

    will you fully comprehend?

    The water is cold

    it’s supposed to be

    it follows God’s law

Though opaque it seems to them

    glass is before my eyes

    to help me see

but to blind what is close

Times it may seem that way

but one only needs to pull back the glass

and see with detail what really matters

Not of some metal or brick

    of the heart I speak

There is not substitute for truth

That is what I know and believe

    Sorry

Sorry for all the trouble I put you through

All I want to do is cry and hug you

    -

    cry on your shoulder

    make me feel bolder

    -

    Sorry I forget

the love that you give me

    It’s a flaw inside me

    that I try to hide

    -

    be patient and wait

    I will repay you someday
